Recently for work I have been eyeing out the local startup scene, firstly by attending several sessions at MaGIC (Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity) as a personal capacity as well as work. Of course the ones I have to keep an eye out are normally within the Fintech space but as I listen to pitches as well as talk to several startups, I am truly amazed by what I have seen in the ecosystem.

If you remembered back in the days of coupons where companies like MilkADeal and Groupon as well as many more were fighting in that space, it seems that MilkADeal has decided to pivot and now focuses on cash back deals. I have met the founder and spoken to Wilson and he definitely has something great going on. If you are already buying stuff online now, especially at places like Agoda or Booking.com, why not head over to his site first?
I like to cook but I hate searching out for ingredients and most of the time whenever I want to cook something, I can’t buy small portions and end up buying a lot of stuff which I will probably only use once or twice. With Fooddit, that solves my problem. They offer menus which change every week and they send you pre-portioned items which you can cook! Thats best compromise for me.
I may not know about brands or handbags but after browsing through their catalog, they definitely have some very interesting selections. The idea is that the bags are designed by local designers and manufactured overseas by the same folks who produce top branded handbags. So quality is definitely there at a fraction of the price.
These are some of the ones which caught my eye and there are definitely a lot more especially technical related ones. Watch out for this space for more posts about them.
