I wear my Apple Watch on a daily basis and lately I have gotten tired and bored of my Milanese Loop. I would try to swap back to the original rubber straps but I felt that it didn’t seem formal enough at work. That was when I saw an advert for Nomad’s Modern Build Apple watch strap.
A quick search on Google led me to their website, and the best part, they were having a big discount on the strap and I decided to take the plunge and order it. In total it cost me less than $80 for strap. From photos, it was the perfect colour combo with my Apple Watch which was black.
Last week, it finally arrived!
I was completely stoked. I quickly took out my Milanese Loop and swapped it with the Modern Build strap.
The clasp fit in perfectly and the leather felt really nice.
Why Nomad’s Modern Build?
Initially my first search was via Lazada. I searched for leather straps out there to see what are some of the designs available. There were plenty of them, too many in fact. What I was worried is whether the leather was going to be genuine leather or some PU crap.
The other reason was that the buckles and bits come in black! That gives my Apple Watch a brown and black look. Funnily it took me a while to ask around to find out what those bits are actually called. I still don’t know what it is called. Nomad calls it Black Hardware. That is cool.
I ordered the strap during Chinese New Year, 28th January to be exactly accurate which was a weekend. I received it at my office on Friday last week on the 10th of February. That was how long it took for them to ship it out from the US to Malaysia. To be fair, they only shipped it on the 31st of January. I wonder what took them so long.
Since it has only been a couple of days, I will drop back here again with more reviews on the strap. So far, my first impression is pretty good.
