If you’re experiencing issues with your Apple AirPods Max, such as the headphones not detecting your head or failing to connect to any of your devices, here are some steps to help resolve the problem. Additional symptoms might include the Digital Crown and noise control button not functioning properly, despite being able to hear audio from the headphones. To address these issues, consider resetting your AirPods Max by pressing and holding the Digital Crown and noise control button for 15 seconds until the LED flashes amber and then white. This process can help restore connectivity and functionality. If it still doesn’t work, try the steps below.
After trying these steps below, I am glad that I managed to get them to working conditions again. First you need to prepare the following items:
- SIM card ejector tool, like the one that came with the iPhone
- 99% alcohol swabs
- Cloth
Step 1: Lay the AirPods Max flat on a surface
Step 2: Remove the magnetic earcups
Step 3: Take the SIM ejector tool and insert it slowly into the small hole at the top of the earcup
Step 4: Slowly remove the earcup from the headband
Step 5: Clean the contact points located at the end of the headband
Step 6: Reassemble everything back together
Once you have done the cleaning, try pairing it again with your device and check on the automatic head detection.
